This 16in by 20in piece is a collab with J Hitchcock. Layered paint and mixed media on canvas. My addition to this piece was the hygrangeas and stems. This figure is a representation of marginalized humans--the service industry workers, healthcare providers, mothers, for example--who are often seen through as though made of glass, just part of the background for someone else's life. The hydrangeas symbolize the life that these folks give to others. Using her own water and life to sustain and hold beauty and acts of service and love for others. Sometimes people only see what they can get from someone else - this piece serves as a reminder to not look through others. See eachother as the humans we all are, and give thanks to the people who create space, beauty and ease to your own life.
